PROJECTS > COMMERCIAL > GERALDINE ADDITION
The new Geraldine Preschool was only completed 3 years earlier, but with an ever increasing demand for spaces within the Preschool, the committee decided it was the right time to extend and create an exclusive area for over 4 year olds. The Preschool wanted to create a separate, purpose built area for the older children as they become ready to transition to school. The new space had to maintain the same feeling as the original building with raking ceilings, high and low level windows for cross ventilation, vision (and direct access) to the external environment and a warm comfortable space for children to play in. The new build was also to use the same self-sufficient and environmental standards that were used in the main Preschool building. The addition was designed to sit seamlessly with the existing building with the addition to look like it was part of the main build.
